My Work Showcase
About
I am a final year Textiles in Practice student at Manchester School of Art. I will be displaying some of my designs from my most recent projects.
Visual Impairment Project
Colour Blindness
For this project I wanted to design a range of sportswear that would be inclusive for people who suffer from colour blindness, as I do not think this deficiency is considered within the design field. To begin, I created colour waves from comparing what our normal visions seen to be and what people who suffer with Deuteranomaly vision and Tritanopia vision see in comparison. I then designed motifs based on Ishihara Tests for colour blindness and created my final digital collection of prints from them. (See Below)
Final Products Designed for Collaboration
Here, I have gathered trainer designs from designers New Balance and Converse. I have incorporated my Visual Impairment designs within them to show what a possible outcome would be if I were to be able to collaborate with these brands.
Final Product
Here are one of my designed that I have 3D printed in recycled plastics. These glasses are designed for people with colour blindness. The lenses would be tailored to the type of colour blindness you suffer from.
Perfect Impairment Project
Beginning this project, I knew that I wanted to move on from my previous Visuallusion project but still somehow include the inclusivity of visual impairment in it.
This led me to come up with idea of making bohemian style prints and then applying filters on them through Photoshop and Illustrator to make them look more impaired and with that, naming the project, ‘Perfectly Impaired’. Visual impairments are seen as a negative, so I wanted to create a range of prints that are deemed as ‘beautiful’ because of the bohemian detail but then go on to impair them to show how visually impaired prints are also just as or more beautiful.
Shoot of Bikinis, Scarves and Jewellery
Also, fashion illustrations and claw clip accessory visualisations. Furthermore, Fusion 360 shapes for attachments on bikinis.
